Q: What is the difference between Thai Massage, Deep Tissue Massage and Swedish Massage?

This is a common question! Swedish Massage is generally a more relaxing experience, using long strokes with light, to firm, pressure. For those who want something a little more rigorous, a Deep Tissue Massage involves a lot more pressure, helping to release tension deep within the muscles. In contrast to these two types of massage, a Thai Massage takes place upon a floor mat - and not on a massage table; this allows for greater movement, (e.g., from side to side), and enables the Thai massage practitioner to manipulate limbs, neck and back from above.

If a full body massage seems a little daunting, you can opt for a treatment which doesn’t require lying in a towel! Many first-time clients will opt for a Head and Neck Massage, Foot Massage or Reflexology Treatment to begin with. Alternatively, you can try 2 or 3 together with our popular Maresia Fusion Treatment

What is the difference between a Sauna and a Steam Room?

A Steam Room, which provides moist heat, offers more benefits than a sauna, which produces dry heat. Moist heat helps to release toxins from under the skin, soothe aching joints and muscles and improve circulation. It is also particularly beneficial for those with respiratory issues, or sinus problems, opening airways and helping to reduce blockages.
