How Our Laser Hair Removal System Works
Until recently, laser hair removal has been problematic for those with darker skin types, due to the way in which melanin is absorbed by the laser. However, the Motus AY is a unique Alexandrite system which uses FDA approved technologies to work across all skin types.
Using a 20 mm integrated sapphire contact cooling tip with ultra-short pulse durations, this treatment works by targeting each hair directly and destroying the hair follicle. Usually, around 6-9 sessions are needed to target all hairs in their growth cycle, and depending on the individual, top-up sessions may be required from time to time.
IPL v Nd:YAG – What’s the difference?
The answer is – a world of difference! In a nutshell, an IPL is not a laser, but a bandwidth of light which targets skin first, and then hair. This means that it burns the hair, but is less effective at destroying hair at the root – so results are generally temporary.
In contrast, Nd:YAG laser technology targets the growing hair directly, bypassing the skin and destroying the hair follicle, preventing it from growing back.
